Nurse Rene Caisse worked in Bracebridge, Ontario. Her work with cancer patients using a group of natural herbs was so promising, that Bracebridge Town Council encouraged her to run a clinic in town.

She used four herbs:  burdock root, sheep sorrel, slippery elm and rhubarb root (rheum officinale).  Rene shared her recipe with our store’s founder,  Eleanor Gaudaur, who passed it down to her son Jake.
